General Information

 

1. Name Tag and Necessary Documents

 

All participants are requested to register at the registration desk on 5th floor and receive nametags and the necessary documents. Please wear the nametag throughout the Symposium period.

 

2. General Information Desk

 

Information concerning technical programmes, and social events, as well as about miscellaneous facilities in and around the Symposium site and various Services will be provided during the Symposium period at registration desk or Symposium Office on 5th floor.

 

3. Message Board

 

During the Symposium period a message board will be located in the registration area. The board may be used for personal messages as well as for official notice and information. Please confirm it regularly. Messages can be sent to participants as follows:

4. Travel Information Desk

 

KINKI NIPPON TOURIST CO., LTD., the official travel agent, will have a travel information desk in the registration area on 5th floor throughout the Symposium period, where participants will be able to confirm their return flight, hotel reservations and optional tours.

 

5. Miscellaneous

 

Coffee Service: Coffee will be served free of charge at the Coffee Lounge on 3rd floor foyer. Please feel free to enjoy fresh coffee any time.

Lunch Guide: Lunch will be available at restaurants in the vicinity of the Symposium site.

Credit Cards: American Express, Master Card, VISA, Diners Club, JCB and some others are widely accepted at hotels, and larger restaurants and shops. (Cash is necessary at smaller restaurants and shops)

Tipping: It is not customary to tip in Japan. Instead, at places such as restaurants, bars and hotels, a service charge of between 10 to 15 "is usually added to the bill.

Business Hours: Almost department stores and retail shops in Tokyo are open from 10:00 to 19:00 daily, including Sundays.

Currency Exchange: Foreign currencies can be exchanged at banks in the airport or in the vicinity of the Symposium site, and at some hotels.

Electrical Appliances: Japan operates on 100 volts for electrical appliances. The frequency is 50 Hz in eastern Japan including Tokyo.

Climate in Tokyo: Tokyo's average daytime temperature in October is about 17℃. Average humidity is 67%.
