Report 30th meeting ISO/TC8 Advisory Group, Azores, 2000-05-03/04
1. OPENING OF THE MEETING (9.00 hrs)
The Chairman opened the meeting with the traditional blowing of the boatswain's pipe.
To begin, the Chairman explained about the schedule and purpose of Advisory Group.
The main purpose of the AG today is to provide advice and assistance to the Chairman regarding the strategic vision, planning issues such as long range plan, business plan, and short range plan; public awareness such as public information, program management over-sight in that we will assist in the TC8/Sub committees not progressing, and as to what we should do and adjust work programme.
2. ADOPTION OF AGENDA
・ 8 AG N 534 R1
The revised and annotated draft agenda was adopted as follows:
・ agenda item 10 - Delete item 10, ISO Documents for information, because it has no documents in TC8/AG this time
・ agenda item 11 - add a proposal of Prof. Hengst to this agenda item.
3. ROLL CALL OF PARTICIPANTS
・ 8 AG N 528 Membership of the Advisory Group
The Chairman expressed a change of the AG member from China, Mr. Liu Ying Gei, to be dropped, because the member is not participating. Members must attend the AG meeting - if a member does not, the Chairman may consider to drop the member. AG membership no longer requires a delegate from every country. It is planned to be a smaller group.

The meeting was attended by 13 participants, from 8 member countries (Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Russian Federation, UK and USA).
