Further, it was agreed that the term "training" should be amended to read " familiarization", because the sentence "training should be carried out" is not appropriate with respect to the handling of AIS, and that the IMO/STW Sub-Committee should be requested to consider the requirements for training.
7.2 IMO vocabulary on standard maritime communication
A drafting group considered NAV/46/9, NAV/46/INF. 4, etc. and prepared a draft text. It is scheduled that the vocabulary will be sent to COSMAR 5 and STW32 and, after consideration at MSC74, will be resolved and adopted at the 22nd Assembly.
