In Tokugawa's case, it is the timing in the able body's elocution, while we have to take the timing with vocalization and the control of the amount of air into consideration.
Tokugawa's timing, is a masterpiece of a speech with good voice quality and relevant conditions. However, the essence of his teaching is that to let listeners expect what would be told next, and take the good timing to put in words and construct the speech to satisfy the listeners, the knack of the good speech is the timing.
Is this at all possible for us? I think it is possible if we take time and select good words.
c) About Intonation
Since there are fundamental handicap in the skill of vocalization for the laryngectomees, such as organs of speech and the amount of air for vocalization, I emphasize that the importance of acquiring high pitch vocalization is indispensable for the advanced trainees, which enables the speech as good as the one by the able body.
