II. THE VERIFICATION OF THE REGION OF UTTERANCE

It is very efficient to precisely verify the region where the esophageal speech is made and to conduct the speech training accordingly.

This chapter discusses 1) people who do not vocalize yet, and 2) people who vocalize a little but not enough.

1) These people are actually up in the air about how to utter a sound. They practice really hard studying the principles from the instructor of how to swallow the air from the mouth into esophagus and then utter while exhaling the air through the mouth, or studying themselves reading a textbook on utterance. Some of them are able to utter the basic sound from the start, however, most of the people generally strain hard around the pharynx to obtain no esophageal speech but a leaking of the air. Their strenuous efforts tend to end up causing stiff shoulders because of too much strain, or a congestive headache, which would dump their ardor.
