VI. EXERCISES IN CONSONANTS
In Europe and America exercises in consonants are often done before those in vowels. Some say consonants are easier to phonate. As you have not spoken for a time after operation, your mouth, tongue and chin may not move smoothly. You had better try to move your chin lightly, to move your lips and tongue briskly. The use of a mirror will help you improve the movements. Without opening the mouth adequately you will not be able to pronounce distinctly.
It is necessary for those who have an irregular set of teeth or those whose teeth have all come out to have the row of teeth straightened or to have false teeth put in.
In this section, bringing articulatory organs in their proper positions is an important subject.
