(3) Age of examinees
Of the 1,142 of examinees in marine accident inquiries upon which judgments were pronounced in 1998, 221 were below and 921 were above the age of 40, with the average age 49.2. The average age of examinees was 48.3 in such accidents involving passenger ships, 50.6 in those involving cargo ships, 49.9 in those involving oil carriers and 48.6 in those involving fishing vessels.
