ITUMF is 4+1 years after High School where as others are 4 years recruiting students with relatively much lower scores of University Entrance Examination. At ITUMF all graduates guaranteed of international / national job opportunities with fluent English. (Ref. 7, 8, 9, 10)
ITUMF has the largest academical staff body, International campus facilities, laboratories, and Administration approved undergraduate program (with Postgraduate program as well) where as others have limited staff, no campus, and few laboratory facilities programs, being in line with IMO Model Courses. All State Universities are attended with symbolic tuition fee. In other Universities, proficiency in English is not guaranteed, mainly national employment. (Ref. 11, 12, 13, 14)
2. ITU, Maritime Junior College - 150 students/year
These are two year courses after high school only leading to W/O, and E/O certificates with 7.03, and 7.04 IMO Model Courses covered relatively for Deck and Engine Departments. Programs are Administration approved, but all have very limited staff, laboratories, Students with rather low scores of University Entrance Examination are admitted. All state Universities are attended with symbolic tuition fees.
These are two year courses after high school only leading to W/O, and E/O certificates with again 7.03, and 7.04 IMO Model Courses covered relatively for Deck and Engine Departments. Students do not need University Entrance Examination to attend the courses. Tuition fee is high with Turkish Standards (3000 USD/year). Mainly students failing to attend to Faculties/Junior Colleges attend the courses. Building is available with staff/laboratory support from ITUMF.
