Fig. 13─Failure mode observed in the prototype specimens tested to failure with internal pressure and pressure end load. These failures exhibited rupture of the helical reinforcement in the trap lock MCI.

Fig. 14─Failure mode observed in most of the internal pressure tests. Half of the CPR specimens tailed in internal pressure with pressure end load tests and over half of the internal pressure static fatigue results also exhibited failure of the circumferential reinforcement at the mid-body location.

Fig. 15─Failure mode observed in axial tension tests. All six (6) CPR specimens failed in axial tension tests exhibited failure of the helical reinforcement at the inboard trap location.
