西暦2000年、21世紀に向けてのミレニアムの記念すべき年に、私たちの念願でありました「社団法人大阪府看護協会会館・ナーシングアート大阪」が竣工しましたことは、私ども看護職にとりまして大きな喜びでございます。
大阪府看護協会は昭和22年から貸事務所で活動しておりましたが、昭和54年から大阪府看護教育研修センター内に事務所を構えて、会員の教育・研修と府民の保健医療福祉の増進に寄与することを目的として活動を推進してまいりました。
今、21世紀を目前にして超高齢少子時代を迎え、保健医療福祉の分野は大きく変革しており、看護協会でも事業の拡大、加えて会員の増加により事務局は、狭隘を極め、会員の研修に対する要望も増加の一途をたどり、新会館設立への構想が浮上してまいりました。
平成7年度通常総会で新会館建設を決定し、平成8年から会員の熱意に支えられて建設基金の積立を開始いたしました。平成10年には土地を購入し、平成11年に建設工事を進めてまいりました。建設にあたりましては、大阪府・大阪市をはじめ、日本財団・医療団体・医療関係業者、看護職OBの方々、さらに地元住民の方々にも多大のご支援を賜り、本日めでたく竣工の日を迎えることができました。物心ともにご厚志を賜りました方々に心より感謝し厚く御礼を申し上げます。
今後は、新会館を拠点に看護職能団体として社会の期待をしっかりと受け止め、看護の専門性を高めるための教育事業を充実させると共に、地域社会の看護ニーズに対応した活動を実践すべく内容の充実と整備に努力してまいりたいと思っています。
そして先輩達の英知と努力によって築かれた歴史を礎に、更に発展させ次なる世代へと引き継いでいきたいと考えています。

Message from the Chairperson
It gives me great pleasure to witness the completion of Nursing Art Osaka in the first year of the new Millennium.
For the members of the Osaka Nurses Association, having a building of their own has been a longcherished wish.
Having originally started its services in a rented office back in 1947, the Osaka Nurses Association moved to an office at the Osaka Prefectural Nursing Education & Training Center in 1979, where we created services designed to provide training to our members and contribute to the promotion of Prefectural citizens' health care and welfare.
As the 21st century fast approaches, Japanese society is rapidly graying and showing low fertility. This in turn has triggered major changes in health care and welfare in the country. Meanwhile, as the services expanded and the membership increased, the Secretariat of the Association found the office too small to handle the growing demand from the members on training courses. It was then that a plan to establish a new hall emerged.
After the construction project was approved at the 1995 Ordinary General Assembly, collection of donations for the construction fund started in 1996 with enthusiastic support from the members. The purchase of land was made in 1998 and the construction work started in 1999. Thanks to generous support from the Osaka Prefectural Government, Osaka Municipal Government, the Japan Foundation, medical organizations and businesses, veteran nurses and citizens of communities, the new building has been completed. I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to those who have been kind enough to support us both physically and spiritually.
Now that we have our new building, we are determined to further improve and expand our services, so that we can meet the high expectation society has of us, develop better educational projects for enhanced nursing expertise and satisfy nursing needs in the community .
We hope to build upon the foundation of our predecessors' wisdom and endeavors, and pass this rich legacy on to future generations.
