.2 Anchoring, fishing and aquatic cultivation are prohibited in the traffic lanes. Aquatic cultivation and anchoring are prohibited in the areas near the terminations of the traffic lanes and in the precautionary area.

.3 The inshore traffic zone may be used by the vessels using ships' routing system in case of emergency to avoid immediate danger, or navigating to/from a port, offshore installations, pilot station, anchorage or berthage situated within the inshore traffic zone.

Sailing boats, fishing boats and vessels with a length of less than 20 meters may use the inshore traffic zone.

.4 Vessels navigating in the precautionary sea and in the areas near the terminations of the traffic separation scheme shall do so with particular caution. Vessels engaged in fishing shall not impede the regular passage of any vessel joining or leaving a traffic lane.

6. Waters covering ships' routeing system

 

The ships' routeing system in the waters Off Chengshan Jiao promontory is in the territorial waters of China.

 

7. Position fixing

 

The coastline near Chengshan Jiao promontory is craggy and most mountains are close to the shore. Nevertheless, the land marks are outstanding and aids to navigation are adequate (refer to Appendix B) which enable mariners to determine their position with sufficient accuracy to navigate in the traffic separation scheme in accordance with Rule 10 of the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea, 1972 as amended.

 

8. Depth of water

 

The water depth in the ships' routeing system is over 25m with exception of 18m depth of water above a wreck located at 37°37'.8N, 122°40'.8E. It is suitable for various kinds of vessels entering and leaving the ports in north Huanghai and Bohai.
