Action requested of the Committee
3 The Committee is invited to note:
.1 the two reports and, as far as the report on the seminar and workshop is concerned, to note, in particular, resolution no.2 (Appropriate and uniform punishment for the crime of piracy and armed robbery against ships) and to invite the Legal Committee to consider developing; as a matter of urgency, an international code for the investigation of piracy and armed robbery against ships and recommending an appropriate punishment for the crime;
.2 the recommendations contained in annexes 4 and 5 to annex 2 (report on amendments to MSC circulars 622 and 623) to take account of specific situations in Latin America and the wider Caribbean region and agree to take them into account when revising the circulars.
