Report 28th meeting ISO/TC Advisory Group, Galati, 1999-05-04/05
1. OPENING OF THE MEETING (9.00 hrs)
The Chairman opened the meeting with the traditional blowing of the boatswain's pipe.
The Chairman introduces Mr. Liviu Crudu, Managing Director of ICEPRONAV that hosts the AG meeting. Mr. Crudu welcomed the delegates to Galati and explained the meeting schedule. Next, the Chairman addressed a special welcome to the new ISO/TC8 Secretariat (JMSA) and to the new Secretary of TC 8, Mr. Ichiro Ogo. Mr. Ogo delivers his speech about the assumption of office.
2. ADOPTION OF AGENDA

The revised and annotated draft agenda was adopted after inclusion of the following items:

・agenda item 6 - Review of Business Plan
・agenda item 7 - Report on IMO/DE 42 meeting by SC3 Secretary

The meeting is attended by 18 participants, from 7 member countries (China, Denmark, Japan, Norway, Portugal, Romania, and USA). The attendance list is annexed to this report. Apologies have been received from Mr. Szemro (Poland), Mr. Schade (Germany), Prof. Hengst (Netherlands), Mr. Nordal (Norway), Messrs. Rumiantsev and Gromov (Russian Federation), and Mr. Brookes (UK).
1. APPOINTMENT OF EDITING COMMITTEE
The Chairman appoints Mr. Hime, USA; Mr. Ogo, Japan; and Mr. Closca, Romania to the Editing Committee in case any Recommendations have to be drafted.
