Thank you very much for sending me the final report. I found the contens of the report are correct and excellent descriptions of the WG3 meeting subject to the following comments on ISO/TC8/SC1/WG3 N21 - Annex 2.
1. Regarding Japanese comments on Clauses 2.5(should be 2.8, now 2.9) and 3.4
As a matter of fact, I have not been able to find either "primary means of escape" or "secondary means of escape" in SOLAS Reg. II-2/28. Would you please let me know in which IMO instruments they are used or defined.
My understanding is that the WG3 did not agree to delete "primary" and "secondary" with the view that the means of escape independent of watertight doors and having a greater width is the primary means of escape from a compartment. I would like to suggest that this should be put on the report, with corrections if my understanding is not correct, to confirm the WG3's understanding of the meaning of words.
2. Regarding Japanese comments on Clause 3.1.7 and 3.1.7.1
My understanding is that the WG3 did not agree to delete this information considering it useful to port state inspectors, but not fire-fighting personnel. I would like to suggest correct the report accordingly.
