(Incompatibility)
Article 166.
No assistant governor or assistant mayor shall be simultaneously a public attorney, police officer or tax collector or a member of the public safety commission of the ordinary local public body.

The provisions of Articles 141, 142, and 159 shall apply mutatis mutandis to an assistant governor or assistant mayor.
3.
The chief executive shall dismiss such assistant governor or assistant mayor as may come under Article 142 adduced in the preceding paragraph.
(Duties)
Article 167.
An assistant governor or assistant mayor shall assist the chief executive, supervise the business of the auxiliary organs, and art for him/her in the performance of his/her duties, as provided elsewhere in this Law.
(Chief Accountant and Treasurer)
Article 168.
There shall be a chief accountant in each To, Do, Fu or Ken.

There shall be a treasurer in each city, town or village. However, a town or village may by bylaw dispense with a treasurer, devolving his/her duties upon the mayor or the assistant mayor.
3.
To, Do, Fu or Ken or a city, town or village may by bylaw establish one or more assistant accountants or assistant treasurers shall be fixed by bylaw.
4.
The number of assistant accountants or assistant treasurers shall be fixed by bylaw.
5.
An assistant accountant or assistant treasurer shall be appointed by the chief executive from among the administrative officials.

The chief accountant or treasurer shall not be simultaneously a public attorney, police officer or tax collector or a member of the public safety commission of the ordinary local public body.
7.
The provisions of Articles 141, 142, 159, 162, 163(the first sentence) and 164 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the chief accountant or treasurer.
8.
The chief accountant or treasurer shall forfeit his/her office when he/she comes under Article 142 adduced in the preceding paragraph, which fact shall be decided by the chief executive.
9.
The provisions of paragraphs 2 to 4 of Article 143 shall apply mutatis mutandis to the decision of the chief executive under the preceding paragraph.
