PMS-100/200 GRASPTM, Reefer Container Monitor System Using Power Cable Transmission
Uzushio Electric Co., Ltd., recently has begun marketing Power Line reefer container Monitoring System named PMS-100/200. This system which RTE of the U.S. developed is PCT (Power Cable Transmission) compliance with ISO 10368 standard for power cable transmission system.
Advantages in Installation
As the PMS system transmits signals over the exiting power cable, it requires no dedicated monitoring line, which the conventional 4-pole type containers need making it possible to reduce the wiring cost onboard and the labor when loading/unloading containers.
Its extremely simple system configuration permits its installation in existing vessels at low cost.
Advantages in Monitoring Function
Unlike conventional systems which can only monitor changes in container conditions according to signals from 4-pole type containers, the PMS system can accomplish for more sophisticated monitoring according to diverse information from PCT type containers on such aspects as hardware abnormality, compatibility with USDA temperature sensors, remote operating (Temperature, Defrost, Pre-trip) and importing reefer data from Loading/Host computer. These features make this system most suitable for the valued shipments and cargo items needing precise monitoring.
Two types of reefer container monitoring system are available.
*PMS-100: A system that can supervise PCT type reefer containers.
*PMS-200: A system that can simultaneously supervise PCT type and 4-pole type reefer containers. This system requires the RTE/Uzushio developed slave modern for 4-pole use.
Features
1. Compliance with ISO 10368 standard on the PCT system.
2. Monitor both PCT and 4-pole type reefer containers (PMS-2000 GRASPTM).
3. Temperature monitoring, including the use of USDA temperature sensors.
4. Up/download reefer information and download trip records from the containers.
5. Remote temperature setting and defrost Pre-trip control.
6. Import reefer data from Loading/Host Computer.
7. Monitoring on Windows 3.11/95/98/NT.
