Clarification
4 Taking the above-mentioned problems into consideration, the stowage and segregation requirements of freight containers for such cargo holds should be clarified in detail.
5 Japan is not able to support the proposal by France(MSC67/19/9)on the issue of the transport of dangerous goods regarding cargo holds with partially weatherproof hatchway covers.
Therefore Japan is of the opinion that the DSC Sub-Committee should invite the SLF Sub-Committee not to conclude the issue of the transport of dangerous goods for such cargo holds until the DSC Sub- Committee makes an appropriate decision about this issue.
Action requested of the Sub-Committee
6 The Sub-Committee is invited to consider the opinion stated above and in particular to:
.l take note of the necessity of clarification of the stowage and segregation requirements regarding cargo holds with partially weatherproof hatchway covers；
.2 invite the SLF Sub-Committee not to conclude thc issue of the transport of dangerous goods for such cargo holds until the DSC Sub-Committee makes an appropriate decision about this issue；and
.3 include the issue of such clarification in thc work program of the Sub-Committee and develop the requirements for such cargo holds, taking this proposal and relevant documents, including the proposal by France, into consideration.
