NORDIC SVENITA Converted into Shuttle Tanker
The first shuttle tanker ship, STENA AKARITA, was converted by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in November 1996, and NORDIC SVENITA is the second ship to be converted into shuttle tanker in Tsuneishi.
Main conversion works include installation of B.L.S. (Bow Loading System), new generator with generator room, and D.P.S. (Dynamic Positioning System: including two (2) bow thrusters, one (1) stern thruster, and controllable pitch propeller.)
And she has a slight modification in accommodation for service at North sea.
STENA AKARITA installed center bulkhead but NORDIC SVENITA had one already.
After conversion she has been in service between North Sea and Norway.
