SAKTI 8,739-dwt General Cargo Ship
The 8,739-dwt general cargo ship, SAKTI built by Hiroshima Works of the Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd. was delivered in August 1997 to the MI-DAS Line S.A.
The ship is a twin decker, with bulbous bow, transom stern and its engine room/accommodations located aft.
The cargo section is divided into two holds with wide and long hatch covers of single-pull type operated by hydraulic motor and chain. For cargo handling, one 130t twin type electro-hydraulic deck crane is equipped between hatches and one 25t KDY guy-less type derrick boom is equipped on No.2 hatch aft. The design allows a variety of cargoes to be handled, including packaged lumber, plywood, steel coils, aluminum ingots and containers.
