TAISHUN Car/Heavy Vehicle Carrier
The car/heavy vehicle carrier TAISHUN was completed at Setoda Works of Naikai Zosen Corporation, and delivered to Libero Panama, S.A. on July 16, 1997.
Features
1. The ship is a roll-on/roll-off (Ro/ Ro) type multi-deck, single-screw, diesel-powered car carrier, having a total of eight car hold decks comprising four above and below the freeboard deck, with the engine room arranged aft.
2. Heavy vehicles (including ve-hicles for construction use) are loaded on four fixed decks, and passenger cars are loaded on four movable decks.
3. To let vehicles roll on and off, a shore ramp is arranged at the starboard stern, and car lifts and hold ramps facilitate further loading on board.
4. To facilitate maneuvering for berthing and unberthing, a side thruster is provided at the bow.
