UNITED CAROLINE 45,588-dwt Handymax Bulk Carrier
The 45,588-dwt UNITED CAROLINE, 53rd vessel in a series of TESS 45 handymax bulk carrier, was delivered in July 1998 to World Bulkship S.A. by Tsuneishi Shipbuilding Co., Ltd.
The TESS 45 handymax bulk carrier is designed to have ample dead-weight and hold capacity, convenient stowage arrangement of cargo holds to accommodate bulk cargoes, and two bays of 42-foot cargoes. Heavy bulk cargoes can be loaded alternately in holds Nos. 1, 3 and 5, and 15-ton hot rolled coils can be loaded in all holds in two tiers.
Wide and long enough cargo hatch covers of hydraulically operated, end-folding and of flat top type are provided.
Hatch opening size： 20.00m x 15.30m for No. 1 and 20.80m x 15.30m for No. 2〜No. 5. The vessel is also equipped with four 30- ton electro-hydraulic deck cranes.
To comply with DNV and E0 classification standard, unmanned en-gine room machinery system is provided.
