CEMPAKA 7,477-dwt Chemical Carrier
The 7,477-dwt chemical carrier CEMPAKA was built at Hashihama Works of the Shin Kurushima Dockyard Co., Ltd., and delivered in July 1997 to Cempaka Navigation S.A. The vessel was built for ocean transport of chemicals (IMO type 2 & 3) and oil products.
The vessel has twenty-four (24) cargo tanks constructed of stainless steel SUS316L and/or SUS316LN.
Designed specific gravity of center cargo tanks are 1.85t/m3.
Designed specific gravity of wing cargo tanks are 1.025t/m3.
Structures protruding into the tanks are minimized by the use of on-deck girder system for the upper deck and vertical corrugated type bulkheads.
Each center cargo tank is equipped with one (1) submerged cargo pump and wing cargo tanks are equipped with two (2) screw cargo pumps driven by a hydraulic motor. The pumps are remotely controlled from the cargo control room.
Cargo handling is simplified by a 4 metric-ton hydraulic operated deck crane for hose handling, arranged amidship on the upper deck.
