7.3 Berthing Support System
7.3.1 The Berthing Support System(BSS) is an optimum maneuvering information display system which can be used when the huge tanker has approaching or berthing to a jetty.
The configuration is consisting of a handy terminal for the pilot and portable process unit on board which linked by radio wave through modem to the base station in the monitoring and control office room on the sea-berth and also base station has linked to the Differential GPS system on shore.
The system configuration is shown in Fig.7-4.
7.3.2 When the huge tanker has approaching in the harbour, a boarding pilot to keep the own ship speed to minimum otherwise the ship could not stop her moving suddenly by her inertia in emergency and this means very dangerous, however, if too reduce the speed rudder effect should be loss and also time go to waste.
Therefore this system present optimum speed and course according planned course and estimate time of arrival to the pilot or captain on the bridge.

CONCLUTION
Safety navigation should be a common wishes not only seamen and their families but also among consignors, ship operators, ship owners, rescue organizations, ship builders and manufacturers. Marine disasters, however, occurs in the same waters, same channels and same mistakes every year.
Modern seaborne transportation itself are not so drastically changed but technology is innovating very quickly therefore we have to try to apply the modern technology to improve the situation.
This report is my point of view for considerable subjects both of man/machine operational interface and navigational watch keeping regarding to reduce the errors caused by human element. Advanced integrated navigation on the bridge systems which required for reduce the human elements the opinions coming-up from my experiences such as through discussion with several users, colleagues, experts at standing point as manager of manufacturer, as my former seamen life an as a marine counsellor.
