4.2 Designing
In general, each major component, equipment or system and layouts are regulated internationally requirement such as IMO, IEC, ISO and rules of applicable classification societies, however those requirements are based on minimum requirement and note detailed compulsory for individual component, therefore design of system, hardware and software should be matched their concept with equipment to equipment, connectivity and Man/Machine interface at the stage of design in shipyard and manufacturers.
4.3 Producing and Installing
Of course, producing and installing are faithfully done according to the documents and drawings in quality controlled product line.
4.4 Judging
A judgment by operator could be made by many information, reports/answerback and his own observation. The human errors are caused during those tasks at the bridge.
Therefore, presentation and display should be easy and intuitively understandable according to ergonomics concept.
4.5 Operating
Mistouch, misoperation of direction, missetting and complicative operation are most causative factors in urgently operation.
4.6 Trans action and managing
Even if the system has been designed simple and ergonomics design, most of ships and installation and operating conditions are different. To smooth the trans action and managing in emergency situations any operator should be familiarized the installed system by training.
5. Tasks Analysis
Some of the considerable number of tasks that are carried out on a ship's bridge are:
(OHP-8)
5.1 Watch & Monitor;
─ Keeping a Look-Out
─ Monitoring advisory devices and displays
─ Confirming own ship's status
5.2 Planning;
─ Route/Course/Average Speed/ETA
─ Loading/Bunkering/Water feeding
