6-6 FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM

The plunger barrel is of closed type with a pressure limit of over 150 MPa, which provides ideal fuel spray within a short period. For easy maintenance, roller type tappet mechanism is integrated into injection pump body for DK-20 and DK-26. Each pump is provided with air cylinder for fuel shut off in case the common shut off mechanism is stuck.

A forged steel block with drilled passage is employed for high reliability.

From the cylinder head side way, fuel injector is connected to injection pump by way of connectors with drilled passage only to reduce the length and delay in injection.

 

DK-36 FO INJECTION PIPE

Fuel injection pipe is made of mono-block forged steel and the fuel passage is drilled.

High injection pressure ensures good performance at all load.

6-7 CHARGING SYSTEM (D.S.P., Daihatsu Single Pipe)

Air cooled, high efficiency, radial type turbo-charger is employed for the new DK series engines.

Fig. shows appearance of D.S.P. Compared with conventional pulse type turbo-charging system, D.S.P. makes improvement to the turbine acceleration and low load limit by effectively providing kinetic gas energy to the turbo-charger through a single exhaust pipe which has proper dimensions.
