6-4　CYLINDER LINER PROTCET RING (Anti-polishing Ring)

Fig. shows cylinder liner and the protect ring is inserted on the upper part.

Made of special cast iron with high fatigue strength, the upper part of the liner has adequate thickness and water cooled bore to keep deformation to a minimum under high combustion pressure.

The protect ring works to keep L.O. consumption to a constant low level and effectively extending the life span of the cylinder liner.

6-5　PISTON AND CONNECTING ROD

Fig. shows construction and outlook of both piston and connecting rod.

The design of piston is of mono-block, thin shell light weight type with cooling on so called "cocktail shaker" principle. The material of the piston is nodular cast iron, and a pack of piston rings consist of three compression rings and two oil scraper rings. All sliding surfaces of piston ringas are chromium plated to reduce wear to a minimum.
