4.2.4 Connecting rod

The connecting rod is made of forged carbon steel and the big end is a diagonally split type structure and the joining face is serration method.

FEM analysis is carried out on the big end joining face, and stress working on the serration and face pressure of the joining face are calculated so as to avoid fretting and damage to the serration. To keep accurate and sure axial force of the rod bolt, angle tightening method is given to model 6N18(A)L and hydraulic tightening method to model 6/8N21(A)L.

Crank pin metal of the big end is introduced aluminum metal with high anti-pressure strength and thin-walled lead bronze bush with excellent endurance is used for the small end.
