This suggests that the eddy momentum transfer may play an important role on the maintenance mechanism of the NSCC. On the other hand, eddy activity is not so strong to the SSCC. The different mechanisms may generate and maintain the North and South SCC. Quantitative analysis for the eddy momentum and potential vorticity transfer and budget is left as a future work.
