歓喜の気配を感じる作品
非常に力強いものから、ヒューマニティ、ユーモア溢れるものまでバランス良く受賞作品が集まったと思う。その中で、私が今年すごく興味があり最初から気にかかっていたのが、人間、人物が全然出できていない南アフリカのサッカーのゴールの写真。人の足跡とか、そういったもので人の気配を感じさせながら、スポーツの楽しさとかを表現できている。競技者もいない、観客もない、でもスポーツを感じさせるあの写真が入賞したのはすごく良かった。これからのこのコンテストに幅が広がるのではないかと思った。

I think that there was a really good balance among the winning photographs, ranging trom powerful photos to those filled with a feeling of humanity and humor. Among these, the photo that I was really interested in and which really got me from the beginning was that of a soccer goal in South Africa, in which there were no people at all. Giving the feeling that there were people present, with such things as the footprints of people, it depicted such things as the fun of sports. There were no players and there were no fans, but I am really glad that this photo, which gave the feeling of sports, won an award. I got the feeling that the scale of this contest would increase in the future.
