Table 2.2.4 The scale of floe size distribution (Feb. - Aug.)
The ice floe size was calculated using these scales of floe size distribution and the equation(2.2.2).

where, P is a scale of floe size distribution. P is calculated using the equation of Apple, Gudkovich(2.2.3), when there is no observation data.

where, N is the ice concentration, R is the stage of melting.
Determination of mepn ridge height (parameter 13)
The mean ridge height was estimated using the equation (2.2.4) based on Romanov's database.

where, Hs is mean ridge sail height, hs is the mean ice thickness, for drifting ice m=0.62 and n=6.59, for land fast ice m=0.94,n=0.88
Determination of the maximum ridge sail height(parameter14 and 15)
Maximum ridge sail height is calculated as a value which can be exceeded wilh a probability of 1% (H0.01: maximum ridge height) and 0.1% (H0.01:maximum possible ridge height) that is shown in equation(2.2.5) and (2.2.6).
