Ships bridge layout and associated equipment for one-person operation
Requirement and guidelines
ISO/WI 14612 is included in the list of standards of common interest for ISO/TC 8 and IMO, with IMO-Link - NR 15 in Annex A of TC 8 doc N 1000.
This standard is complementary to and compatible to ISO 8468, the general standard for Ships bridge layout and equipment. The compatibility between the two standards is achieved by using identical structure, identical headlines and alignment of terms and definitions.
Target date： CD stage will be entered by the end of 1998.

5.3 Possible proposals for new work items
One proposal for a New Work item on Heavy duty wipers for Ship's bridges is submitted from UK. This proposal is currently under NWI-ballot in SC 5.
Two possible future proposals are identified. Further developments in IMO are waited for in this respect.

The 2nd meeting of SC 5 was held in Southampton 10 April 1997
7. Schedule of future meetings
The next meeting of SC 5 was scheduled to autumn 1998. The meeting is postponed to 2nd quarter 1999.
