THE MARINE ENGINEERING SOCIETY IN JAPAN (MESJ)
Procedure for Application of Membership
1. Applicant is requested to submit to MESJ an application form duly filled out including recommendations by two current members of MESJ.
2. The following fees are required before an application can be considered complete.
Entrance Fee \1,000
Annual Membership Fee \9,000
Postage for Journals and Bulletins \1,000
Total Amount of Remittance \11,000
3. 1) We prefer that the fees in item 2, (11,000 Japanese yen net receivable by us) shall be remitted by telegraphic transfer to an account of MESJ in the Tokyo Mitsubishi Bank as described below. Please make sure that all and any bank charges are for the account of the applicant (your good-self) and not of the beneficiary (MESJ).

2) If you wish to remit the fees by demand draft etc., other than the telegraphic transfer, the following bank charges shall be added to the regular fees as follows:

4. On receipt of both your application form duly filled out and your remittance, we will register you as a regular member of MESJ, subject to approval of the Administrative Board of MESJ, and will send you a certificate of membership.
5. Membership and postal fees shall become due in January of each year. Membership is valid for twelve months from January through December. A full membership fee shall become due in each subsequent January, thereafter.
6. Member shall receive free from any charges "Journal of the Marine Engineering Society in Japan", published monthly in Japanese. Altenatively, should he decline the Japanese publication, he shall receive gratis "Bulletin of the Marine Engineering Society in Japan" published biannually in English.
