(1) "Your performance went well."
この表現のポイントは後半です。 "went well" は｢…はうまくいった｣という意味。行事などがうまくいくのは英語でも "go well" と言います。日本語とずれがなく、使いやすいですね。
友人と会いました。 "What's new?" という相手に弁論大会はうまくいったということを伝えて下さい。
相手… "What's new?"
私… "The speech (oratorical) contest went well.
(2) "I'm concentrating on finding work."
"coneentrate on … " で｢…に集中する、専念する｣という意味。 "on" の後ろは名詞または動詞プラス "ing" の形がきます。
