GENERAL INFORMATION
The International Congress on Extremophiles '98 will be held on January 18-22, 1998 at the PACIFICO YOKOHAMA Conference Center in Yokohama, Japan. This Congress is sponsored by Japan Marine Science and Technology Center (JAMSTEC) and supported by Science and Technology Agency of Japan and The Nippon Foundation.
The Congress will provide a forum for the exchange of information between specialists in the rapidly growing field of extremophile research and will promote discussion and the exchange of ideas between scientists from academia and industry.
The major topics of the Congress are a panel discussion about “Future of Extremophiles” and five sessions as follows: S1 Genetics and Molecular Biology, S2 Structure and Function of Proteins, S3 Physiology and Metabolisms, S4 Ecology and Diversity, and S5 Genome.Screening and application of extremophiles are included in these topics.
