Especially two segment were the residues of 26 to 47 near the N-terminus, which correspond to a crucial position involved in the assembly of the core RNA polymerase in the E. coliα subunit, and also the C- terminus of 253 to 268 which is the rigion associating with transcriptional factors and DNA (5). In addition, cloning and molecular characterization of other components, such as rpoB, rpoC, and sigA of the strain are now in progress.
