was determined and analyzed with DDBJ Homology Search System. These results showed that some gene clusters on the B. subtilis chromosome were randomly conserved on the lambda clone. For example, ydh gene cluster (ydhM, ydhN, ydhO, ydhP, ydhQ, and ydhS) (1), yts gene cluster (ytsD, ytsB, and ytsC), and yqi gene cluster (yqiQ and yqiP) were conserved on lambda 4 clone with the different organization from that of B. subtilis.
