density was the same as that of the bacteria grown at 30℃ at atmospheric pressure. The growth rate at 40 MPa was slower, and the doubling time was about 2.57 days (that meant the specific growth rate was 0.011 h-1) grown at 40 MPa, and the final optical density did not reach 1.0 (final optical density was approximately 0.2). This optical density was similar to those of the bacteria grown at 60 MPa and 30℃.
The membrane composition of the bacteria grown at various hydrostatic pressures at growth temperature 10℃ has been investigated in detail.
At the International Congress on Extremophiles, the growth profiles and membrane composition of the microorganism grown at 10℃ at various hydrostatic pressures will be discussed in comparison with those grown at 30℃.
