Travel on the Silk Road will eventually cross the Chinese borders, traverse the Central Asian countries, stop at Iran, Turkey, Syria, Egypt, Greece, etc. on the way and finally reach Rome. So vast is the area it covers. The "Samarkand Declaration" states clearly our expectations that tourism development be conducted in the countries along the Silk Road according to the concept of tourism-goal on the Silk Road. However, in doing so, every country involved in tourism development must bear in mind Dr. Higuchi's ideal.
