a shore-based process facility where petroleum gas (propane, butane, etc.) is separated and liguefied. Stored LPG is exported periodically to a conventional LPG carrier.
Features
1. LPG is pressurized at ambient temperature when loaded on the vessel. On board, LPG is refrigerated to low temperature, depressurized to atomospheric pressure and stored in the cargo tanks.
LPG is loaded continuously and the tank is designed to store LPG at any level.
2. The vessel is planned to remain on the site for 20 years without drydocking, and was designed for long life operation with high reliability and low maintenance:
(1) IHI SPB (self-supporting prismatic shape IMO type B) tank system developed for LNG/LPG carriers has been introduced to ensure high reliability of the cargo tank. The tank is of a stiffened plate structure made of steel for low temperature service, and is fully analyzed to ensure the long fatigue life.
(2) Hull FEM analysis has also been made being integrated into IMO type B analysis of the cargo tank to ensure equal reliability to the cargo tank.
(3) The vessel was designed to be fully functional under all operating conditions by adopting redundant systems, anti-corrosive materials, etc.
