TOSHO, the World's Largest Grab Dredger

TOSHO, the world's largest 200m3 grab capacity dredger, recognized by Guinness Book, was completed by Sumitomo Heavy Industries, Ltd. and delivered to Kabushiki Kaisha Kojimagumi in May 1995.

Features

1. Counterweight-balanced and hydraulic-operated mechanism, which is energy saving and patented by Kojimagumi, mainly functions to balance the weight [abt. 370t] of grab bucket with counterweight.

2. Simplified dredging gear reduces consumable parts and maintenance cost.

3. Strong hydraulic seizing power with the grab bucket dredges hard soil and minimizes roughness of seabed.

4. Mooring system without an anchor-chain but a walking spud, patented by Kojimagumi, eliminates operating of any anchor.

5. Operation system of the dredger including operating winches and spud winches are controlled from a remote operation room in a unified Way.

6. Environment-friendly managing system realizes highly efficient and precise dredging.
