SAN PAOLO, the Second "46BC" Developed by Sanoyas
The 46,601-dwt bulk carrier SAN PAOLO was delivered to Azara Shipping limited of Isle of Man in April 1995 at the Mizushima Works and Shipyard of Sanoyas Hishino Meisho Corporation. The SAN PAOLO is the second vessel using the Sanoyas developed standard handymax bulk carrier design.
Features
1. The cargo space is divided into five cargo holds with topside tanks and hopper bottoms; its bulk carrier structure affords efficient cargo stowage.
2. Cargo carrying capacity is increased by maximizing deadweight and hold capacity.
3. Hydraulic motor-driven, end-folding hatch covers are used, and hatch openings are maximized to facilitate cargo handling.
4. The vessel is equipped with four electro-hydraulic driven 30-ton deck cranes and grab handling capability. The design allows a variety of cargoes to be handled, including grain, ore, coal, steel products and packaged lumber.
