In this presentation I had not recognized the value of quality of life depicted in "Worship, Play, Love Work, Functional diseases seldom occur in a balanced life." This statement was made by a great Harvard medical ethicist, Richard Cabot in his book What Men Live By. This painting has adorned my office wall in many locations since graduation from Duke University Medical School in 1957. Certainly Worship, Play, Love and Work are included in what many people of all lands consider quality living. Attention must be paid to these four areas, for proper balance between worship, play, love and work can provide immeasurable satisfaction and tranquility and may truly serve as a keystone for quality of life. Daily participation in these areas establishes good values for children and benefits for persons of all ages.
