Here you see two old people who both had a knee repair. They are talking to the home care manager to determine what care they need and what care the home care organization is able to I give,

 

The Netherlands have a long tradition of home care. The first organizations were founded nearly 125 years ago. By the beginning of this century, these organizations were established all over the country. There were two kinds of home care organizations: the home nursing organizations, which provided nursing care, and the home help organizations, which deliver household help. In the course of the century both types of organizations got national councils and also government subsidies. From 1970 on major organizational reforms took place and especially the last ten years there have been enormous developments within the home health care. The main reason for this is the fact that, as we have seen earlier, the strain on health care resources grew bigger as a result of the aging of the population and technological developments. For the home care there was an extra strain because of substitution processes. Hospital care is increasingly substituted to home care. All these strains put into motion many changes, that have become the subject of a political debate. The main question is: in what way
