4. Intelligent City Plan
(1) Purpose
To establish an advanced information network system base in order to positively develop cities as information markets and places for utilization of information as well as to meet the demand for cities to be highly information-intensive.

(3) Prerequisites of designated regions
Areas which satisfy any of the four conditions below:
an area which has implemented a land readjustment project, a project for development of new strategic city bases, or a total development project a central district of a city with an advanced commercial district an industrial area or a strategic distribution base located near an interchange a district where an advanced information network is promoted
(4) Designated areas
53 areas (as of March 1995)
(5) Support measures
1) to give priority to implementation of city development projects led by the Ministry of Construction
2) subsidy for planning expenditures
(utilize subsidies for research granted by the Ministry of Construction)
3) other subsidies
subsidy for advanced information centers through comprehensive city
