1) Current Situation regarding CATV
Table 6 shows the current situation concerning CATV projects run by local governments, public corporations, the third sector, etc.
Of the total 310 projects, 88 are directly run by local governments, 2 are run by public corporations, 199 by the third sector, and 21 by other organizations.
It can be seen that about two-thirds of CATV projects are run by the third sector.
There has been an increase of 34 projects, or l2.3%, compared with the previous year.
2) Current situation regarding CATV business according to scale
Table 7 shows the current situation regarding CATV business by scale. Of the total 310 projects, 33 are for retransmitting only, 275 broadcast independently, and 2 are undetermined. Of those in the category of independent broadcasting, 168 provide administrative information by exclusive channels.
3) Annual trends in CATV projects
Table 8 shows the annual trends in CATV projects.
A steady increase can be seen each year and the latest figure is more than twice the total number of 1990, the first year that the survey was conducted.
