Water usage per capita per day

These days, however, in the cities and in the rural areas, just turning on the faucet makes it possible for us to make unrestricted use of as much pure, safe water as we require any time we want.

The total quantity of water used in one day currently in Japan for washing one's face and brushing one's teeth in the morning, for cooking, laundry, flushing the toilet, cleaning, bathing and so forth amounts to about 350 liters. This equivalent to 35 bucketful's of the 10-liter bucket used in the old days.
