How much water do you suppose there is altogether? Actually, there are about 1.38 billion cubic kilometers of water on the earth, 97.5%, or about 1.35 billion cubic kilometers, of which is contained in the oceans. The remaining 2.5%, about 35 million cubic kilometers, is in the form of freshwater on land surfaces and in the atmosphere.
