3.2 Land Use
Indonesian Government issued the Repelita V in Year 1989 including the development policy for industry products and new industrial complex by the private sector. Since this policy issue, the large scale of industrial complex developments are rapidly progressing in the east part of Jakarta Metropolitan Area.
Industrial complex already under operation is located mainly at the east side of DKI Jakarta, Pulo Gadung, Sunter and Ancol Area. New development of industrial complex is now covering in Bekasi to Krawang area and further stretching to Cikampek area.
Most of these industrial complex developments are located to the eastward of Jakarta with the 40km-50km distance from Jakarta City Center and along the Cikampek Tollway for its easy access to the road transport.
Main industrial complex developments under progress are, as example,shown in Table 3-4.
Present progress of land development plan is as shown on the attached figure and it is clearly indicated that the east and west directions from Jakarta Metropolitan Area are much more highly under development. At the same time the transportation network plan is also required to be expanded or reinforced to the east and west directions from Jakarta Metropolitan Area.
In fact, the tollway network plan in Jakarta Metropolitan Area is as attached and under expansion for circular routes and radial routes with total development for the east and west directions.
