JTCA was established with a view to doing non-profit, public activities not doing commercial business like ordinary companies. You may understand our organization chart and activities from the pamphlet on your table. The objectives of JTCA are to help social and economic development by promoting international cooperation in the field of overall transport towards developing countries.
Accordingly, the activities of JTCA are closely related with the policy of Ministry of Transport on the official development aid (ODA) in the transport sector and JTCA carries out the activities in such a way to cooperate with the Ministry along their policy direction.
Now, I would like to refer to the Seminar. The theme of this Seminar is "Transport Infrastructure Development Strategy in Viet Nam", we are well informed that Viet Nam is now in accordance with Doi Moi Policy endeavoring to develop the country under the market economy system. For that purpose, it is essential to develop the transport infrastructure which is the basic facility for the economic development and the improvement of people's life. Therefore at the Seminar, the lecturers will introduce or show you how and based on which policy Japan and other Asian countries have achieved, made mistakes or overcome the problem during their transport infrastructure development by focusing on the actual experience of Japan just as they took place.
At the same time, we would like to listen your views and policy toward the transport infrastructure development.
