The Third F0ST Cup

World 0pen Computer Go Championship

The F0ST Cup is a World 0pen Computer Go Tournament which started in l995.

It was designed to measure the scientific advances in artificial intelligence as it grows every more human like by combining Go, a traditional and intellectually challenging Asian game, with personal computers, the forerunner of microelectronics technology.

The Third F0ST Cup has been recognized as an official event of IJCAI-97 (International Joint Conference on Artificial Intelligence), the biggest international conference in the field of Artificial Intelligence.

Both events will be held concurrently at the Nagoya Congress Center.

The Foundation for the Fusion of Science & Technology was established in April of l994 to support activities that improve the combination of science and technology, such as research on simulations and gaming.

The F0ST Cup is an event F0ST plans to sponsor annually for that purpose.

 

1. Schedule of events

 

Application Deadline : June 20

Confirmation of Receipt: July l5

System Testing : August 26

Tournament Dates : August 27, 28

Award Ceremony : August 28(After the Tournament)

Social Gathering : August 28(After the Award Ceremony)

 

2. Registration

 

(1)Eligibility

a)0pen to all nationalities, both genders and all ages.

b)Individual, team and group participation is accepted.

c)If plagerism is proven, all prize money and awards will be confiscated.

d)Participants are encouraged to implement the Standard Go Modem protocol(SGMP).

All participants are subject to the same time limits, whether programs implement SGMP or not.
